In 2026, the historic Kanopolis Drive-In Theater in Kanopolis, Kansas — one of the few remaining outdoor movie theaters in the state — is gearing up for another season of family-friendly entertainment under the stars, with showings scheduled on weekends from spring through summer as part of its regular movie lineup. After facing a major setback in 2025 when its projector broke, the community came together to help the owners secure funds for a new state-of-the-art 4K laser projector, promising brighter, clearer images for this season’s screenings and ensuring the beloved drive-in experience continues for another year.
